Hanoi countryside day tour – Explore rural Hanoi on two wheels

You will meet your guide early in the morning outside your hotel. Jumping on the back of the motorbike you will weave your way through the city traffic and head out of the centre, passing the iconic Vietnam–Japan Friendship Bridge over the Red River. After a few kilometres on the road, you will notice the cityscape giving way to rural country views, and you will be able to stop to take some pictures as you please for your photo album.

Our first stop is with a local family who will accept you into their house with open arms. After a refreshing drink and a chat you will be led out to the rice farm and get to work with your hosts – there will be cultivation, hydration and turning of the soil. You may also have the opportunity to plant your own vegetables! There will be opportunities to stop, rest and take some pictures before you plough the fields like a local. What an experience and one to definitely tell your friends back home about!

All that work will surely mean your stomach is growling, so our next activity is to get involved with preparing the mouthwatering lunch that has been planned by your “family”. Finally, you will be rewarded with tasty food and an opportunity to chat further with your hosts.

After lunch, we head about 20 kilometres out to the Soc Son Temple and hear about one of the most ancient and revered sights in Vietnam. You’ll have the chance to tour the temple, hear about the history and story of Saint Giong, and take a hike to the Non-Nuoc pagoda to see the huge statue of Buddha, standing at over 8 meters tall. After that, a motorbike ride to the hotel and the Hanoi countryside motorbike tour concludes.

Note: Please note that we are going to ride 70 kilometres (40 miles) ride on the motorbike for the whole trip
