Join us after dark as Hanoi switches on its lights in this Hanoi night motorbike tour and enjoys another vibrant evening of sound, taste and smell. Although the city is fascinating by day, there is a whole new world to explore in the evening as the smell of local cooking and sound of laughter fills the air.
This Hanoi by night tour will take you away from the well-trodden tourist trail and into the backstreets of Hanoi, where we will enjoy the lively night markets bursting with colorful produce, sampling some of the many delicious foods as we go.
The tour begins on motorbike, with which we will navigate the backstreets of Hanoi. This allows for a much more hands on experience than travelling by car, and you will be able to hear, see and smell all that is going on as you wind your way around the city’s attractions. The food in this lively city is known all over the country and your tour leader will be sure to identify the best things to taste during the tour. Don’t be shy to ask questions as you go!
The city opens up at dusk, with homes and eateries spilling out onto the pavement. The area is full of the sounds of people eating delicious food and catching up with friends and family.
The scent of spices fills the air and will make you want to stop and sample a little of everything on offer. Your guide will ensure you miss out on nothing – including the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake which will be lit up, and the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum, which looks glorious at nighttime.
Come on this tour prepared to sample a range of different foods. We will ensure you go home this evening comfortable full and with wonderful photos and memories of this special experience

6 : 00pm : You will arrange a time with your guide to meet in the hotel reception, where you will get a brief overview of the route we will take and some basic safety points to which you should adhere. Then we start this fun tour by jumping on the bikes and heading to a coffee house that serves the local Ca Phe Sua Da. Once fueled up on caffeine we head back on the bike and wind our way along the buzzing backstreets of the Old Quarter before stopping at the stunning and atmospheric French Quarter. Here you will have the chance to snap a few shots of the impressive Opera House, local houses and buildings all of which date back to colonial times.
Then we head back to the city where we begin a walk through the area, visiting the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum for some photos and soaking up the atmosphere at dusk. With our appetite beginning to grow as we smell delicious food in the air we stop off at a restaurant to taste some noodle dishes of Pho Cuon and Pho Chien Phong – restaurants serving this delicacy are hard to find here, so enjoy it while you can!
Our journey continues as we try some more local delicacies. Your guide will point out the ingredients and contents of each dish, and you can try what you want. As you are likely getting full by now we head to a local park where we can work off some of the food and do a spot of people watching, again enjoying the wonderful evening atmosphere that is unique to Hanoi.
Back on the bikes we go by Westlake and onto the Eiffel Bridge, known locally as Long Bien. As the name suggests, the bridge was designed by Alexander Eiffel, and makes for excellent photo opportunities both of the architecture itself and of the city lights.
Snap a few photos as you make your way back to the hotel, where the Hanoi night tour on scooter ends.
