The first attraction on this Hue countryside day tour is a trip to a traditional paper workshop. We head here as soon as you are collected from your hotel, and meet with a local craftsman who has spent years working on traditional designs that reflect the beauty of Vietnamese customs. Take a lesson in the workshop and see how bamboo paper is made and then transformed into interesting masterpieces like hats, flowers, cards and envelopes and many more.

Then we head on our next journey to the imperial city where we get the chance to visit a lovely traditional home. Here, you will learn some more about the local traditions and handicrafts and finally get to make your own lovely traditional lotus flower. You will benefit from the expertise from one of the local craftspeople here, and get to take your flower home as a souvenir.

With your flower complete and safely packed away we head on to Thuy Bieu village. Situated at the edge of the Perfume River the village is home to a splendid garden house which used to be a place for the royal family to relax in. Take some time out here to explore the gardens, plants and fruit trees and relax in the serene atmosphere. Once we have explored the gardens we then take a leisurely bike ride through Thuy Bieu. On the way we will stop and visit a local family house or temple. For those who may have mobility issues you can decide instead to take a relaxing break with perhaps a foot spa in the shade of the fruit trees.

You will surely be getting hungry now, so you will be glad of the local family’s treats that will be on offer when you return from your bike ride. Lovely sugary traditional Vietnamese treats await you which can be enjoyed with a cup of delicious green tea, some ginger sweets and a lot of chat with the family.

Once we have taken our break we begin the short journey back to the town center at around midday. On arrival you will be just in time for lunch in Hue. After lunch, head back the hotel. End of services!
