Day 1: Cai Thia – Ut Trinh home stay (L-D)

8:00 – Start from Ho Chi Minh City.

10:30 – We arrive in Cai Thia, get on a boat to cross the river at the local boat station.

10:40 – Disembark and view a local Cai Thia church, followed by a 15 minute walk to see the beautiful, 19^th century, My Luong temple.  As we walk back, we can see the traditional brick  kilns.

11:00 – Get back on the boat to cross another river.

11:05 – Disembark and visit a local family making rice paper, taste some sweet rice paper cake. This visit can take about 15 – 30 minutes.

11:30 – Then start a nice biking tour for 30 minutes. Photo stops are available.

For those who do not want to bike, they can go by motorbike (with a driver) for an additional fee

12:00 – Arrive and meet another family making “banh tieu,” a delicious Vietnamese delicacy, seeing how it is made, and tasting the nice cake with green tea.

12:30 – Short ride back to the boat.

12:40 – Get back on the boat at Hoa Loc market and enjoy lunch on the boat as we cruise along the scenic Mekong River, lined with beautiful fruit orchards to visit Mr. Tam Ho’s (Mr. Tiger’s) orchard.

13:30 – Get on small sampan and enjoy a row along the smaller Luc Cu canals and fruit orchards.

14:15 – Walk on charming side streets through gardens and villages to Ut Trinh homestay.

15:00 – Have fun of being farmers: catch fish from a pond, pick up fruits from trees or plant new vegetables (seasonal)

18:00 – Cooking lesson at the homestay

19:00 – Dinner time, sample your fresh homemade Vietnamese dishes! Overnight at the homestay.

Day 2: Ut Trinh homestay – Cai Be – Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Breakfast at the home stay

8:00 – Hop on the bikes and enjoy a cycling tour around the village to Hoa Ninh market.

9:30 – Back to the home stay to rest and collect your luggage.

* Another option for those who prefer not to cycle: they can walk around the village and back to the home stay to meet with the others.

10:00 – Embark the boat and cruise to Cai Be.

11:00 – Arrive in Cai Be, visit the Cai Be floating market, workshops of making rice paper, soy sauce and salt, pop rice, pop corn, coconut candies, and more.

12:30 – Drop off at Cai Be boat station.

13:00 – Transfer back to HCMC

16:00 – Drop off at the hotel
