Hanoi Town and County 1 day trip – Off the Beaten Track tour by Motorbike

To start this wonderful tour of Hanoi town and the surrounding countryside you will meet your guide in your hotel reception where you will be briefed on the itinerary and a few important safety tips for riding on the motorbike. Then, it’s time to begin our tour. We head off into the complex network of backstreets of the Old Town, whizzing by street markets and shops on the way.

We pass next through the charming French Quarter with its western-style buildings and grand avenues. A quick stop at the Opera House of Hanoi for some photos before we take in other sites such as the Temple of Literature, the Buddhist Temple and of course the resting place of Ho Chi Minh. We also deviate from standard tourist itineraries and swing by the Bonsai market to take in the displays of greenery on offer, passing also the crash-landed B-52 bomber on the lake. We take a relaxing tour around the Westlake before leaving the area.

We ride on past the Nhat Tan Bridge which straddles the Red River before we speed up and head into the rural surrounds of Hanoi. As we pass farms we can stop if you wish to take pictures as we go. After just over 7 kilometers we reach a charming house where we will be welcomed by our host family who will offer us a refreshing cup of tea. As you sit in their home chatting your host will prepare a delicious traditional lunch and you will dine with the family once it is complete.

Once you have eaten we take a short ride into the area to continue to explore the different farms that make up the countryside. The, we will continue on until we get to the Co Loa Ancient Citadel which is over two thousand years old.

From here we take a boat that crosses the river, then continue on with the river as our guide, exploring the area and taking photos of the local architecture, markets, farms and temples on the way. As we finish our journey we stop off at a children’s home in Bo De Pagoda where we get to bring some joy to the children through play, then we head back via the Eiffel Bridge to your hotel where this charming Hanoi motorbike day trip ends.
