Our private city tour with highlights begins early in the morning to beat the queues at our first port of call, the world renowned Ho Chi Minh mausoleum. Situated in the historically significant Ba Dinh Square, the mausoleum houses Uncle Ho and the impressive building serves to commemorate this famous leader of Vietnamese history.

Following this fascinating and slightly sombre experience we head across to the Imperial Citadel where we spend some time taking in this impressive building, parts of which are now a UNESCO heritage site. Your guide will give you an interesting overview of the history of this politically significant national icon before giving you time to take some photographs.

Following this it’s time for lunch, during which you will experience the flavours of Vietnam with some mouth watering food. Well rested, we head to the Temple of Literature, founded in 1070 as a tribute to Confucius. Here we’ll spend some time wandering the splendid courtyards, admiring the beautifully manicured gardens and learning about the history of this stunning refuge for scholars in the chaos of the big city.

Next in this jam packed tour is a view of the renowned Long Bien Bridge, famed in Asia for its striking architecture, before heading to a highlight of this tour – a cyclo trip in the capital’s vibrant Old Town. Sit back and relax as you whizz through the old town, taking in the sights sounds and smells of Old Hanoi. You will be amazed at the skill of your cyclo driver in dodging people, cars and animals as he passes restaurants, bars and businesses. What a wonderful way to see the city! Finish up with a refreshing brew near the beautiful Hoan Kiem lake, where you will have ample opportunity to take photos, before being transferred back to your hotel in the late afternoon.
