This Ho Chi Minh city tour 1 day will introduce you to bustling centers of Ho Chi Minh City and show you why the place is a center that attracts so many people from around the country. From the outset of the, the tour will visit two French inspired landmarks; the Notre Dame Cathederal and the Central post Office building, built between 1877 to 1883 by the world famous architect Gustav Eiffel. The still functioning Cathedral is a favorite spot for photographers and wedding functions.
The tour will then take a short stroll along the Dong Khoi Street to the Opera House. Used to shelter people from falling bombs during the war, the Opera House was restored to its former glory in 1995 and returned to use as a theater once again.
The tour will then move to the former residence of the president of the Republic of Vietnam, where the South Vietnamese government ruled from. Today the palace has been turned into a museum, and a great attraction to visit. Culinary delights of Vietnam will then be offered for lunch.
In the afternoon, after the tour has been rested, we will visit the War Remnants Museum, where the story of the brutal Vietnam was is put on display. The museum houses military aircraft, weapons and pictures that tell the colorful story of the war.
Later on, we will head down to Cho Lon, where the city’s famous Chinatown is located at. We will see the history of Chinese influence on the country and will visit the Thien Hau Pagoda, which is dedicated to the Goddess of the sea. With amazing sites on offer, there will be great opportunities for photos all throughout the Chinatown tour. We will not forget to do some bargain hunting at Cholon and Binh Tay Markets on the way.
Optional: You can chose to have your street tour carried out on a Cyclo, and simply sit back and relax whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of the city.
