Mekong Delta private tour 2 days from Ho Chi Minh city with homestay

Day 1 : Ho Chi Minh – Cai Thia – Vinh Long – Can Tho (Lunch, Dinner)

8:00 am: We depart for Cai Thia, a small town in Mekong Delta, 2 hours drive from Ho Chi Minh City.  Along the way, you will see the very beautiful scenery with rice fields, orchards, and the people who maintain these large plantations.

Upon arrival, we will take a private boat to a small island, famous for its mango plantations. We will also visit a local island family to experience island living.  The family will teach you different skills like how to make fresh rice paper, famous Vietnamese Banh Tieu, or make presents for friends and family.  There you will enjoy tea and some delicacies which are only found on the island.

We will take a bike tour through shady fruit gardens as we follow the river.  After we return to the boat, relax and prepare to see the boat become a floating restaurant as we serve unique and traditional Vietnamese dishes like “Elephant Ear Fish” with fresh rice noodles.

As you enjoy your lunch, the boat will cruise to Vinh Long, a city renown for it’s lush flower gardens and bonsai groves. After lunch, we take a stroll through the picturesque town to get to the Vinh Long homestay.  There you can relax, join cooking classes, make new friends with local people and enjoy some free time.

Day 2: Cai Rang floating market – Can Tho City -Cao Dai Temple

6 am: We begin our tour early to see the Cai Rang floating market – the largest floating market in Vietnam. Enjoy some fresh fruits on the merchant’s boat and watch how they sell and trade their products on the boats. After that, we will visit a beautiful and peaceful fruit garden to sample many kinds of regional fruit.

We then depart to Ninh Kieu Port, where you have the chance to discover Can Tho city center, the second largest city in the South Vietnam.

Enjoy lunch in a very beautiful riverside restaurant, located inside the oldest market in Can Tho city. Afterward, we will visit some famous Khmer and Chinese pagodas in Can Tho city.

On our way back to Ho Chi Minh City, we will stop to visit Cao Dai Temple, the fifth largest religion in Vietnam.
