Day 1: From Hanoi to Pu Luong

Included: Lunch and Dinner

We will meet you at your hotel in Hanoi at 7am and begin the 200 kilometer journey to Pu Luong Nature Reserve together. The journey will take just under 5 hours, and you will have plenty of time along the way to view the changing landscape as we head out of the urban areas towards the countryside. You will also be offered lunch during the journey, and a chance to stretch your legs.

We also take a break at Co Lung, where we will take a 1 ½ hour trek around a Thai village. Take in the traditional way of life in the hamlet, including the water wheels used for generations and get to know more about the local tribes in the area.

Next, we head to the village of Hieu. This is one of the most isolated settlements in the Pu Luong area, and it is here that you will take a hike to the beautiful waterfalls before reaching the traditional house on stilts where you will spend the night. Whilst hiking around the area you will be amazed at the spectacular scenery that surrounds the trails.

You will surely be hungry, so you will be invited by you host to fine on delicious traditional foods before settling down for the night in your stilt house. There is the option to stay in private accommodation should you so wish for additional cost.

Day 2: Pu Luong and return to Hanoi

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with your hosts before leaving this beautiful village on the back of motorbike, heading back to the taxi that will take you through stunning countryside towards a local marked at Pho Doan. Here, you will be able to witness locals trading their wares before we begin a relaxed hike over the valleys on the way to the settlement of Kho Muong. After three hours we reach the village, where you will be offered some traditional refreshments and lunch.

The leisurely pace continues and you can spend some time relaxing in the village before we begin the journey back to the city in the early evening. If you wish, you can decide to have your evening meal in a traditional establishment as part of your tour. You will arrive back to your starting point at about 8pm.

Optional Add on – trip to Ninh Binh

After breakfast on the second day you will be collected by motorbike and transferred to your taxi for the journey to Ninh Binh. The trip takes just over 3 hours.

First stop is a visit to the Mua Cave, a beautiful sight with lots of amazing history. At the height of the cave you will be rewarded with wonderful vistas of Tam Coc. Panoramic views of the Ngo Dong River await you – perfect for photographs.
