Explore Thanh Toan village in a day trip to explore real rural Vietnam

This full day tour that covers over 8 kilometers by both boat and bike.

You will start your morning just after breakfast with a bike ride to the settlement of Thanh Toan village. This is the place that is known for the beautiful tiled bridge. As you journey through the countryside take in the sights and sounds of rural Vietnam – you’ll wiz past markets, rice paddies and locals going about their daily business.

By mid-morning we will have reached the famous Tiled Bridge of Thanh Toan, one of the country’s finest examples of architecture. We will stop and take a quick tour of the local museum which does a good job of setting you up with some local knowledge. Then we make a little boat trip with some of the villagers on the river Nhu Y – take in the beautiful landscape as you journey on and try your hand at fishing in the same way as the locals.

Before lunch we will head to the Eco House. Here you will spend a little time learning about local produce and the farmer’s methods for growing. Some of the interesting fruits and vegetables may be unknown to you, and you may even get to taste some before the midday meal. Then you head to your cooking lesson where you will try your hand at whipping up some delicious local foods, then enjoy them for lunch.

After you have eaten and rested it’s time to head back to your starting point by bike, where your Thanh Toan village day tour ends.
