The reason I write this article is that there is an increasing number of Israeli asked me to design an itinerary for them for their upcoming Vietnam trips.
I thought that I should put them into one article so that everyone could see them. So that’s the reason why I tried my best to write this detailed article to show you a sample Vietnam itinerary which is specially designed for Israeli : family with kids, honeymoon, couples, groups of friends, or big group
This itinerary covers most of the tourist hotspots in Northern Vietnam such as Hanoi, Halong Bay, Ninh Binh and Sapa with an overnight stay in a Halong Bay or taking a cable car to the peak of Fansipan which is the roof of Indochina is a highlight of this trip
Day 1 : Arrive in Hanoi, half-day Hanoi city tour and walking food tour around Hanoi Old Quarter
Airport pickup and take part in the tour to save time. If you are a fan of low pace travelling, I do recommend going to your hotel and resting. But the only issue is that the room is usually available around 2pm for check in, some hotels offer early check-in at free of charge

6.30 pm: Walking food tour around Hanoi Old Quarter to try out signature dishes.
Day 2 : Hoa Lu ancient capital, Mua cave and boat ride in Tam Coc (1.5 hour)
If you are able to go on a bike ride then it’s fun to explore the hidden alleyways of villages around Tam Coc by bike.
Stay overnight in Tam Coc
Day 3 : Drive from Ninh Binh to Halong : 3.5 hours and take an overnight cruise in Halong
Day 4 : Halong to Hanoi. Stay overnight on a train to Sapa
Day 5 : Sapa trekking: Cat Cat village for the morning and Lao Chai to Ta Van in the afternoon.
Day 6 : Fansipan cable car, Silver waterfall. Limousine bus back to Hanoi Arrive Hanoi in the late evening (8.30pm to 9 pm)
Day 7 : It will be a free day or you may take a half day tour to Bat Trang ceramic village (I do recommend if you are travelling with kids because they’ll learn how to shape the clay by hand) in case you have an evening flight, afternnon will be a free day for shopping.
If you are a big fan of nature, I do recommend to spend another day in Ninh Binh with some possible options

Option 2 : Cuc Phuong national park
Option 3 : Phat Diem Stone Cathedral and Galaxy cave ( off the beaten path)
Day 1 : Hanoi arrival and half-day city tour
Day 2 : Hoa Lu ancient capital boat ride in Tam Coc and hike Mua cave (500 steps)
Day 3 : Bai Dinh and Trang An or Cuc Phuong national park (Early man cave, Turtle Conservation, Endangered Primate Center, trekking 6 kilometers round trip to 1000 years old tree). Back to Hanoi and stay overnight on a train/sleeping bus
Day 4 : Sapa trekking (See above itinerary for details)
Day 5 : Fansipan cable car, Silver waterfall, Hanoi
Day 6 : Hanoi to Halong. Stay overnight on a cruise
Day 7 : Halong cruise. Flight to Ho Chi Minh city
Day 8 : Mekong delta day trip. You can choose to go either to Ben Tre or My Tho.
Day 9 : Ho Chi Minh city tour and evening motorbike food tour’
Day 10 : Free at leisure and your departure or half-day tour to Cu Chi tunnel (Ben Duoc tunnel is less touristy than Ben Dinh tunnel) if you are taking an evening flight
